We proposed a number of design routes that ranged from shapes that were inspired by science fiction to colourful sparks that alluded to the namesake. In the end it was agreed that the route with the biggest impact was the one that nodded to the bus industry’s art deco heritage. With use of a two tone metallic grey and red paint scheme and a sunburst effect to the logo the striking new designs are already being noticed within the city.
The buses are due to be launched on the busiest route on the network next week and we look forward to receiving further feedback from Citybus’ customers.
“We wanted something that was a step up from our Flash livery which was designed four years ago and is now well established within the City. The manufacturer of the buses has done a really good job of making a blank canvas for the design, so the design had to compliment the curves of the bus. We think the new two tone design is a real head turner, with a host of positive feedback already we are sure they will be a big hit.”
