Children and Family Health Devon provides children’s health services across Devon. They consist of a whole range of professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists.

They are an alliance of local NHS providers led by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with: Devon Partnership Trust, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Livewell SouthWest.

The Challenge

We were tasked to rebrand their existing identity to ensure that it supported their vision and resonated with their target audiences across Devon and Torbay. Without being perceived as too corporate or aimed solely at very young children, it needed to reflect the professionalism and care of the organisation.

We held mixed focus group sessions with children, carers, and practitioners to gain feedback throughout the process. It was important that they were part of the journey so the identity reflected the service(s) they use or provide. The identity needed to resonate with all ages, not just young children.

The colours of the new identity are inspired by Devon – the coastline, the beach, and the sea. The curves represent pathways, those found in nature and also the personal journey taken by the individual, each very different.

The new brand identity was rolled out across print and digital platforms. Along with basic guidelines, we created templates that the client could then go on to use and produce simple materials in-house.

bluestone360 were brilliant to work with and we were really impressed with them during our rebranding project. When Children & Family Health Devon initially launched, the project was turned around quickly and this included our branding and identity. As we moved forward, the young people and families we support as well as colleagues didn’t feel that the brand reflected the services we were delivering and the impact we were having.

bluestone360 undertook really useful engagement work and sessions with our key stakeholders, who all fed back that they really enjoyed being part of the session and felt listened to. We felt the project was a true partnership which we really enjoyed, and it was great to help shape the identity and the resources produced. The new brand and identity that the bluestone360 team created now resonates with the people we support, and provides a clear identity for our colleagues who now truly feel part of the CFHD family.
